Deny Self I

The artwork

Cross-bearing figures climb a narrow, rocky path toward a radiant cross breaking through dark clouds. Broken chains, a crown of thorns and deep red cloth anchor the foreground. Gold light against charcoal rock gives the artwork a sense of struggle, sacrifice and faith. “A higher way, always” carries the message.
